I am a Melbourne-based documentary photographer focusing on social landscape and the things that exist within it. In my project Broken Possessions, object-orientated-ontology inspired my investigation into the relationships that exist between objects and humans. Through documenting what households dispose of in their hard waste collections, I found that location, numbers of residents, dwelling size and level of disposable income are contributing factors towards what a household throws away. Over a span of nine months, this series acts as a journal of the objects I found detached from and abandoned by their human counterparts.
