I am a multidisciplinary artist working with video, painting and sculpture to explore absurdist themes, relationships between order and chaos, and the use of systems to organise information. Through my conceptually and materially experimental practice, the focus of my MFA research has been to create video works that combine surreal elements with everyday settings to create absurd, illogically structured worlds that operate as a platform for the interrogation of patterns of human thought. These worlds are also internally cohesive, so by placing protagonists into them and having them interact with their insular and absurd surroundings I can explore mechanisms for perceiving and interacting with thought and logic while seeking to arrive at new ideas through their making.
