Waveform variations.
My artwork aims to analyse patterns that arise from studying the wave-particle behaviours of matter and energy. The quantum world of elementary particles reveals a geometry embedded in matter and atoms. It illustrates a unique language of shapes, curves and lines. The subatomic world exists beyond the field of perception. The notion of sensory limitation instigates the need for new mechanisms to help access visual and aural phenomena. My intention is to allow the naked eye to see with greater clarity the rhythmic energetic flow of matter.
Analysing resonant phenomena allows me to conceptualise the quantum world and its multi-dimensional structures. Spatial installation provides a way of modelling the myriad of transformative cycles that occur in nature. This captures the energetic forces that interpose between media technologies and concurrently flow through our bodies. My installations and apparatuses strive to attain a harmonic unity between our dominant sensory faculties; light and sound signals are shaped by the structures and surfaces through which they pass and interact; patterns of optical and aural tonality guide subjects through the performance and instigate a kind of re-evaluation of the body’s sensory limits.
The material force relationship regulates bio-rhythms and living organisms in accordance with the natural environment. I am cautiously analysing the implications of high energy systems on our mind and body. The body reflects, absorbs and transmits rhythmical vibration. This demonstrates the physical expression of light and sound vibrating through matter. Phase cycles between sound, object and plane function to elicit or minimise psychoacoustic affects. It is through sensation that art is able to mediate our experience with the immaterial and the illusive. All life submits to and evolves over time unable to escape the flux of temporality.
