My recent body of work explores the capacity of painting to endure in a way that the digital does not. An attempt to find meaning amongst the visual noise, each work represents a temporal envelope of quiet contemplation.
The idiosyncrasies that emerge through relationships between paint, brush and surface are evocative of a liminal space between thoughts. By the appropriation of seemingly ‘throw-away’ digital images, I attempt to understand the ontology of the image and the way in which it can consolidate memory and experience.
