In this series of works I have combined observations of still life objects with surreal and weightless elements to create a dream like space evocative of childhood. I have employed a high key colour palette to bring an otherworldliness to everyday things.

I come from Fujian province in the southern part of China. In Chinese culture we pay attention to geomantic omens, which in Chinese is pronounced “Feng Shui” and is connected to the energy flow. In my hometown, people believe in this idea of the invisible world, so I have been searching for a connection between art and invisible power since I began painting. Sometimes in our lives, reality is not always ideal. But I can create a perfect world through art.
