This Masters project explores the power of imagination and wonder examined through the use of intuition as a way to uncover new forms of knowledge. By exploring the potential of creativity and imagination it utilises the literary genre of magical realism as a methodology and as an approach to making drawings, sculptures, installations and video works.

My practice is inspired by worlds of speculative fiction and magical realism within South American culture. These genres have opened alternative perspectives and diverse ways of understanding the world. By means of large, bold installations that evoke creativity, spontaneity and reveal an intuitive approach to the making, my work creates new sculptural spaces for ideas of wonderment and illusion to co-exist.
