Hi everyone. You, our most fabulous honours year. And our most incredible academics and supervisors and families, friends and loved ones that have no doubt have supported a lot of you.

What a year. You're triumphant. You've got this. You've got through. I can't believe that it's kind of really happening – that we're here. And you've done it. Congratulations. It's incredible – what an achievement through this crazy year.

I think it's worth reiterating that this year has been incredible and bizarre and challenging and all kinds of things. But the thing that's really impressed Mikala and I is the resilience that you've shown; the creative responses you've had through the work you've made and the thinking that you've shown around practice as well.

It's been truly incredible. And I think it's fair to say that you graduate from this program now as ready as any cohort I've seen come out of honours. Ready for professional practice. Ready to go out there and take on the world. Shape the world. Especially now that we're slowly opening back up and able to re-engage with the world.

So it's been an incredible privilege to be with you during this strange time and you know, we've had some great sort of celebrations though thinking and working and watching you act and invent and be so resilient, but also to come together and mourn together. There's been a lot of loss, but there's also been a lot of really fantastic creation. So I just want to say thank you, all of you, and we’ll never forget any of you.

It's been amazing to see you grow and develop as artists, and we really look forward to seeing all the amazing things you do in future – after you finish this program. Well done!
