Bachelor of Arts (Fine Art) Video video transcript
Welcome to the RMIT School of Art online exhibition. My name is Martine Corompt, and alongside Dr Greg Creek I have been coordinating the Video studio throughout 2020.
First of all, I’d like to say well-done on an extraordinary year and managing to stay focused and be inventive and resourceful from the confinements of wherever you have spent this year, and in some situations still managing to work collaboratively and respond to the changing conditions of your environment. Art practice is a pertinent barometer of cultural change, and video allows us this insight through time and through sound as well as through digital process.
Throughout this semester Drawing and Video students have worked together, sharing ideas and supporting each other in their practices, and we are very proud of how the students have shown great support and care for each other.
I would really like to thank to all the lecturers who have contributed to the Video Studio throughout the year: Philip Samartzis, Ian Haig, Isobel Knowles, James Cecil, Arlo Mountford, Cassandra Tytler and Dale Gorfinkel, and also the technical support team: Tim Catlin, Michael Quinlan Gabriel Nilsen and Ceri Hann
I wish to say a big thank you to your families, friends, peers and housemates who have supported you along the way.
But most of all, I’d like to congratulate our graduating Video students. And don’t think of this as the end but as the beginning of something amazing.
Well done!
