Master of Arts (Art in Public Space) video transcript
Welcome to our Graduate exhibition for 2020. My name is Fiona Hillary. I am the program manager of the Master of Arts (Art in Public Space).
In 2020 our candidates have had a unique learning and making experience. The works you will encounter have been made throughout this year and beyond, drawing together a snapshot in time of creative engagement in the public realm.
Across three semesters our talented candidates have creatively experimented through their chosen fields of practice; from visual artists, new media or digital artists, performative practices, design, social and curatorial practices, each has explored what working in the public realm means through their own creative journey.
From IRL to URL, new ways of working and being have been embraced by all our candidates. Peering from windows during lockdown, exploring site through digital portals, engaging peer-to-peer through the networks that connect us. I congratulate each and every one of our candidates on the passion, drive and vision that has propelled their creative journey forward, despite the challenges this year.
I would like to thank the wonderful Catherine Clover for her contribution and commitment to our cohort. I would also like to thank Ceri Hann for his un-erring support. And riffing from Donna Haraway: I hope you enjoy the marks of care our candidates have created for the future.
