I am interested in experimental engagements with body actions and the forms and material properties of clay, paper, and paint. I embrace a meditative state of mind and performative movement to give physical manifestation to my mental images. I use installation, performance and painting in an expanded field to express how I perceive un-dividable interconnections of mind and body. My work fuses sculptural, non-representational form with site-specific mark-making to construct a continuous space which places the viewer in a precarious and disoriented position. My work integrates mental images and body gestures to blur the boundaries between object, subject, pattern and surface as well as interior and exterior states. To question the necessity of a threshold between entities, importantly inside and outside (mind and body), I intertwine two- and three-dimensional forms and wall and floor surfaces. I am interested in basic forms, such as the circle, line and square, and the transformation of them into complex compositions of patterns and shapes.
