My works are a collection of abstract bodily investigations into my experience of initiating testosterone therapy to align my body with my gender identity.

Rather than exclusively depicting physical changes of the body, this investigation captures glimpses into the changing relationship between my internal and external experiences of non-binary identity. In my work I explore transition through a linear timeline of reflections in Month 1, as well as depicting my experience through non-linear reflections in Intangible Timeline 01 and Intangible Timeline 02

Documenting my experience through abstraction allows me to uncover a deeper understanding of my intrinsic experience of self and communicate intimate personal truths outside of the limitations of my physical body. Creating this documentation through drawing represents a collaboration between myself and my art making materials. The properties of coloured pencil require me to carefully consider every touch that is made to the paper, allowing me to depict metaphysical forms that slowly unfurl into place throughout the drawing process. The intimate scale of each drawing invites the dutiful care and precision with which each pencil mark is applied, and reflects the sensitive properties of barely tangible experiences of self. Throughout my personal reflections and investigations, the relationship between my physical body and my drawings has also transitioned into a dimension that blurs the boundaries between art and artist, my physical body penetrating my drawings in a gesture of trust and compassion.
