Inspired by the ‘new topographics’ photographers, this series is concerned with documenting the constant changes and alterations we apply to the environments that surround us. I photograph a 'landscape' that is not actually natural; one in which everything has been touched by humans. I believe urban spaces are equally part of the landscapes we experience. Many of the places I photographed during this year went through drastic change, even in a matter of weeks. This work seeks to showcase the constant impact we have on the world around us and asks us to become more conscious of its reach. Though the places I went to were in close proximity there is a lot of change happening, even in small spaces. The built environment is something that is growing drastically, and this project is to raise awareness of how humans are responsible for this.
