My work is an exploration of photographic methods to explore a personal narrative of reconciliation with my family through the process of making photographs.

In the act of taking photographs, empathy between the photographer and the photographed becomes apparent, commonalities are realised and an unexpected reconciliation begins.

Through photographing blood relatives, beloved animals, and landscapes near my home, the work explores the ever-changing nature of familial grief beyond the event from which it began. In creating this work, I use my position as the photographer to transform the camera into a tool of reconciliation.
