I am a Melbourne-based Malaysian photographer. My artistic practice revolves around minimalist themes, focusing on fashion editorial and portraiture. With a developed editing palette, my body of works focus on exploring emotion, complementary backdrops and fashion wardrobe to create an atmosphere of familiarity. While I predominantly shoot digitally, I like to create vernacular, casual photos on film (that sometimes serve as behind-the-scenes). My familiarity with shooting outdoors is very apparent in my works as I enjoy photographing in the Australian sunlight.

The concept My Insecurities, Not Yours stems from my introspection into my fall into a depressive, self-destructive state during the COVID-19 lockdown in Melbourne. As the lockdown halted my plans to create an outdoor editorial, I drew inspiration from shoots I had done in the past and incorporated my negative emotions into a body of work centred around myself. The concept is an introspection into my emotions, fashion and self-care; a steep learning process in which I had to identify the emotions I felt during the lockdown and photograph everything by myself. Throughout this body of work, I experiment with vernacular and still-life photography combined with self-portraiture.
