I have always been interested in humanitarian practices and storytelling.

The final work for 2020 was different to what I planned. A combination of challenges highlighted isolated spirits and a hunger for love and social connection that I created through cooking. My project, The Comfort Book, became the therapeutic solution to bringing cultures together and creating joyful discussion. Besides sharing recipes, experiences and stories, each of the contributors also emotionally represented how food strengthens their belonging. The personal comfort and challenge was to buy the ingredients, cook, plan and set up the home studio and to make photographs. My curation involved everything I could do to efficiently execute the project; I planned, designed and collaborated scenes with an interesting community of various artists and people who modelled for their first time and have since become friends.
