Shanice Chen
For this project, I have been collecting and photographing many different types of waste materials. My approach explores relationships between photography and sculpture; waste culture and consumption; art and collecting; what we value and what we discard; and the Earth. During the development of a concept I begin with research of a site to provide a context, seeking out environmental and cultural phenomena or types of waste that are harmful to the living world to use in my work.
