Framing reminiscence.

An exploration of psychological narratives in areas of solitude.

The photographs emphasise the aesthetic and spiritual dimensions of landscape, combining traditional metaphors and myths of the land with its inhabitants. Landscape allows us to contemplate land matters in a natural environment; it reflects on space for human beings and nature; it impacts on the way we consider our relationship through gazing and perceiving. The work presents the tensions between interior and exterior spaces and the interior and exterior self.

The projects present a combination of frames, both literal and metaphorical. And solitude – a middle aged man faced with responsibilities, seeing himself and his projected place in the world.

Visual cues and devices are used metaphorically, through which the outside world is exposed and explored in all its presence.
