My work combines long form videos and video loops to investigate the space between still and moving images. It looks at the everyday and the experience of time passing by immersing the viewer in these spaces and moments. This elicits an experience of familiarity and invokes a sense of nostalgia or contemplation.
This video art project skirts pre-conceived expectations of still and moving imagery by using an unmoving frame with long captures and audio as a driver to expand the viewer’s perception. This process and approach endeavours to create familiar visual and audio scenarios to highlight human experiences that lie between still moments in a room and those in landscapes we have all seen before.
