My practice is driven by my lived experience of navigating life with depression.

It entails a melancholic introspection, a way of working through complex emotions, an abnormal perception of reality and a disjointed connection to self. Straying from the stereotypical dark imagery associated with sadness and depression, my work aims to represent experience as a way to understand ourselves and to propose that chaos enables growth. My work seeks to highlight the value of lived experience as a factor that both connects and divides us. It also explores symbolism in mythology, collectively understood stories and characters that have become universal unconscious metaphors for human experience, emotion and growth.
